Child Safe Standards – Policy Workshop (Sept/Oct)
On 1 January 2017, Victoria introduced compulsory minimum Child Safe Standards for organisations, including sporting clubs, that provide services for children to help protect children from abuse.
Who Should Attend: All club’s that are yet to meet the compulsory minimum standards.
This workshop will focus on using VicSport Policy Template (Child Safe Standard 2) to help Clubs meet the 7 compulsory Child Safe Standards.
The outcomes from this workshop will be:
- a Draft Policy Document that participants can take back to their committees and clubs for approval.
- an action plan of tasks that need to be attended to when implementing the policy. Eg Code of Conduct, Reporting flowchart.
Note if your Sport has a Policy Template please bring that along to the workshops.
Changes to the Working with Children Check requirements will be discussed.

19th Sept 2017 – Port Fairy – Community Services Centre,
20th Sept 2017 – Portland – Reception Room, Glenelg Shire Office (enter back door) Portland
26th Sept 2017 – Casterton – Venue to be confirmed
3rd Oct 2017 – Warrnambool – Archie Graham Centre, Timor St, Warrnambool
