NOMINATIONS FOR 2019 – Opening SOON

South West Sport will host the 2019 Amazon Sport Star Awards; the region’s premier sporting recognition Awards gala.

The Amazon Sports Star Awards is an iconic celebration of the region’s most outstanding sporting achievements, including success shared by our vibrant sporting community – through grassroots to elite levels of performance.

Each year, over 200 guests come from all corners of the South West region of Victoria to Warrnambool – including Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne and Southern Grampians Shires and Warrnambool City.

For the coming year; the event’s format and categories have undergone a significant revamp to ensure the event remains the premier recognition event on the sporting calendar.

The gala dinner event will include 12 individual and group categories; acknowledging the contribution and efforts of athletes, teams, Clubs, officials, coaches, schools and volunteers – during a very special evening of celebration. Winners of the individual athlete categories will be considered for the inaugural South West Sport Supreme Sportsperson of the Year Award; an award introduced for the first time – recognising individual achievements and sporting excellence

The Awards recognise high achievers in sport for the 2019 calendar year from across the South West in 14 different categories and attract nominations from a wide range of sports. The award categories for 2019 are as follows:

Information regarding the 2019 Awards gala – to be held in May 2020 will be released closer to the time.

The 2018 Awards evening was held for Award recipients on Wednesday 29th May 2019 at the Lighthouse Theatre, Warrnambool.
