2018 Deakin University Sports Star Awards

South West Sport host the Deakin University Sport Star Awards which are the region’s premier sporting recognition Awards. The Awards recognise high achievers from across the South West in 16 Different categories (Junior Male & Female, Open Male & Female, Masters, Athlete with a Disability, Masters, Coach Elite, Coach Development, Junior Team, Intermediate Team, Open Team, Club Development, Inclusive Club Development, Volunteer, Achievement) and attract nominations from a wide range of sports.

The unique feature of the South West Sports Awards is the number of people recognised. The Awards not only recognise athletes but also officials, volunteers and clubs.

The Awards cover the five municipalities of the South West – Moyne, Glenelg, Southern Grampians, Corangamite and Warrnambool City.

The presentation evening for Award recipients will be held on Wednesday 29th May 2019 at the Lighthouse Theatre, Warrnambool at 7:00pm.

Note:  This year there will not be pre-award refreshments provided.

Sports Star Award - Nomination Form

- Volunteer: Career information required.
- All other sections top 4 perfomances for 2018 only. Age categories must apply for 2018.
- Please indicate competition qualifying and selection process.
- Junior Male and Female individual criteria - From 12 years up to and including 18.
- Junior Team Category: Team aged 13 years and under.
- Intermediate Team Category: Secondary school age up to and including 18.
- Club Development: focus is on new development activities during 2018.
- Disability Club Development: primary focus is on inclusion and access.
- Team category: greater than 50% of members must have been from the South West Region.
- Achievement Awards: recognises achievements not included in any other categories.
- Individual category nominees must have: resided/attended a school/actively been competing member of a club in the South West for the majority of the 2018 year.
