Tackling the Stigma

The physical health benefits of sport and active recreation participation are well known and discussed. Mental health on the other hand, is not as commonly discussed at a community sport level.

🏋️‍♂️🚴‍♀️ There are a multitude of mental health benefits obtained by participating in sport and active recreation. 💓

The topic is shrouded by stigma despite its importance. In a world where we may not be able to participate in our favourite pursuits, now is an important time to consider the impact this is having in our clubs and communities.

We are joined by Dr Jodie Fleming (The Psychology of It), Linda Holland (Lifeline) and John Parkinson (Let’s Talk Foundation) to discuss the relationship between sport and mental health.
