Working closely with the South West Sport team, councils, and community groups, the Community Activation & Engagement Officer will activate our regional community through partnerships, with a focus on youth, inclusion, neighbourhoods, and place, as well as playing a key role in supporting the delivery of localised programs and initiatives that use sport, recreation, leisure, and play as vehicles for community development, health promotion, and social inclusion.

South West Sport is a Regional Sports Assembly which provides advice and support to clubs, leagues, and associations across the region, we work closely with the sports sector, local government, and other likeminded community organisations to build the capacity of community sport within the region, create participation opportunities, and champion inclusion in sport.

Based in the south west of Victoria you will have the opportunity to contribute to community health and wellbeing through the development of community sport across Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne, Southern Grampians, and Warrnambool.

You thrive in community settings, enjoy working hands-on with local groups and partners, and are confident delivering programs, supporting events, or engaging diverse participants. Whether it’s working alongside a sporting club, facilitating a local pop-up activation, or supporting community-led initiatives, you bring energy, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference.

You may have experience in community development, sport and recreation, inclusion, youth engagement, health promotion, or communications, and you’re ready to bring your skills to a purpose-driven role with impact across the south west.

Most importantly, you're a team player who’s ready to roll up your sleeves, build partnerships, and contribute to healthier, more connected, and more active communities.
