An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the delivery of South West Sports (SWS) Community Sport Transformation Project. This is a newly funded position and project through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s, Sustainable Volunteer Workforce Program 2024-2027.

Working together with the SWS team, the key focus areas will be to:

• Engage with sporting clubs to deliver the Community Sport Transformation Program. 
• Build the capacity of emerging club leaders through delivery of the Next Generation PD Program. 
• Support clubs by providing access to modernised volunteer resources and digital tools.

Specifically, the Community Sport Transformation Officer will support Community sport and active recreation clubs with:

• Proactive long-term planning;
• Implementation of modern volunteer management strategies; 
• Building workforce capability to support succession planning, and;
• Supporting the translation and retention of sector knowledge through improving change management practices in the grassroots sector.

South West Sport is one of nine Regional Sports Assemblies across Victoria. We provide advice and guidance to clubs, leagues, and associations across the region and work closely with the sports sector, local government, and other like-minded community organisations to build the capacity of community sport within the region, create participation opportunities, and champion inclusion in sport.

You will be a dynamic and enthusiastic supporter of community development and volunteering practices at grassroots level and champion inclusivity, equality and innovation in sport. The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge of club structures and process. 

You will have a proven experience in facilitating strategic planning and project management, including all design, implementation and evaluation elements associated. Your high level of IT literacy and competency will assist you in driving the Community Sport Transformation Project.

Additionally, your high level of communication, engagement and collaboration skills, added to your local knowledge of the Victorian Great South Coast will underpin your success in meeting milestones and overall delivery of this project.
