South West Community Sports Awards: Media Release

Today we are excited to launch the South West Community Sports Awards together with event co-naming sponsor for 2023, ACE Radio. Historically known as the Sports Star Awards, the organisation has shifted the focus of theawards from recognising excellence and elite performance to rather focusing on celebrating the incredible efforts of individuals, clubs, and organisations right across the region that are making grassroots community sport possible.

Community sport is ingrained in our culture in regionalVictoria, and its vital to recognise those people that make it possible and to celebrate not only their achievements, but the tireless efforts that bring our communities together through sport. After a few challenging years in community sport, now more than ever we need to recognise the enormous efforts of volunteers, administrators, coaches, and officials who enable participation tohappen.

We are thrilled to have partnered with ACE Radio, as ourco-naming event sponsor for 2023, as great supporters of community sport right across the region the partnership was a natural fit for not only the awards evening, but also for our organisation.

With a host of new categories this year, it is a great chance to show your acknowledgement of the great work and amazing contributions being made in your own sporting communities. With nominations open today, and closing on March 1st there is plenty of time to submit your nomination.

Winners will be announced at the South West Community Sports Awards dinner on Wednesday the 29th of March, to be heldright here in Warrnambool.
